What is the Tour de Danish?
The Tour de Danish is a 25 mile timed bike ride with a catch:  The fastest rider may not win!

How it works:

  • The ride will open with a paced mass start.  The event will follow the Lindsay Orange Blossom Festival parade, and will precede the parade. For a few minutes, you will be the star of the show! At the rest stop (approximately mile 12), each rider will have the opportunity to eat as many Svenhard’s danishes as he or she wishes.  For every danish eaten, 5 minutes will be deducted from his or her time.  Yes—it’s possible for a rider to eat his or her way into a negative overall time!

Is the Tour de Danish a ride or a race?

  • The Tour de Danish is a family fun ride, and, while the ride is timed, it is not a race.  The event takes place on public roads, and roads will not be closed to traffic. All traffic rules must be followed during the event.  So, while the Tour de Danish is a competitive ride, it’s all in good fun rather than all-out racing. Safety will be the first consideration.
  • The route is flat, and is ideal for beginning riders.
  • Awards given for:

And we have a single class for tandems, too! (Two stomachs = a mighty advantage!)

Pre-registration must be received by April 6, 2018. $25 for single riders, $40 for tandems.

Day-of-event registration $30 for single riders, $45 for tandems.

Event schedule:

The rest stop will be located near the midpoint of the route (approximately mile 12). It will be stocked with Svenhard's danishes and water, and will be hosted by friently Kiwanis club members.
